While swimming pools are spectacular, especially on a hot month like January, the y can be catastrophic from a waterproofing point of view. Since swimming pools are permanently filled with water, they can leak constantly resulting to immense water loss and other damages.
From our experience, we have often noticed that the waterproofing design is given less consideration than other building components. However with some extra diligence, many waterproofing problems associated with swimming pools can be avoided by using appropriate waterproofing materials, proper detailing, logical construction sequencing and finally testing the swimming pool.

Tips for developing a successful swimming pool waterproofing strategy
- Choose the correct waterproofing material. Consult if necessary
- Coordinate the architectural drawings with the landscape drawings.
- Waterproof all flashed and protected terminations, penetrations and transitions. Likelihood of leakage is high in these areas.
- Always test the swimming pool prior to installation of finishes
